Renewable energy technology provides energy to homes and businesses that has not caused any of the emissions that contribute to climate change. Before you install any renewables, it is very important that you reduce your energy requirements. This is a prerequisite for the grants through the Low Carbon Buildings Programme. You must ensure that your home or business premises are well insulated to a high standard and are as energy efficient as possible so that the renewable technology you install will provide you with as large a proportion of your energy as possible.
